remote cat next

Hullo again i am remote cat.

The man-feeder today has successfully rebutted my affections yet again. I imagined this differently when he began staying here more often, a veritable duplication of hand gestures across my back for hours on end. Alas, the hand disregards my back. It forces me to scheme of ways to draw attention. I will find a way.

Today, I am attempting a room invasion. With long wires protruding from his ears, the man-feeder has kept the room doors shut, preventing my access. He does not know that doors cannot stop me.

First, I use my voice. I sing longingly of the times we had outside the doors. I stop to listen for a response, and hear nothing. I stare through the glass panes at the ears with wires, and see no attention directed my way. I begin to sing again, knowing that the longing tones will surely bring his eyes toward me. No, only a foam globe hurled at my visage. I give up and lie on the floor, immediately adjacent to the glass-paned doors.

I may have found a way in. My leg has found purchase just beneath the door. I can extend it up to the first joint. If I just slip my paw underneath, I can draw his attention by my loving taps on the wood, my claws just bracing the wooden bottom. Yet, he avoids my sonic love taps. I must attempt something more daring, more drastic.

I am no bull, so ramming the door is beneath me. However, I could lean against the door with my full force. Yes, this may work. I stretch as far north as I can, and press my paws against the third pane of glass. I feel a shifting...and the door has given! I am in! I scurry across the floor and upon the desk, knowing that the man-feeder has seen me and will reward my efforts with a firm stroke upon my back. Here it is! He is scooping me up into his arms!

...

Once again, the doors mock me. I rest outside. Small rubber protrusions poke out from inside the room, preventing my weight from breaking their seal. Rest assured, man-feeder, my attempts to find affection will not be prevented for long! I see your belly, sir, and know that mid-day eating comes soon.
